Volunteering with WHF Would you like to become a volunteer with the Wellingborough Homeless Forum? Becoming a volunteer does not require a regular commitment, but by spreading the work amongst a larger pool of volunteers does make filling rotas considerably easier. During the winters of 2017-18 and 2018-19, roving shelters were established using local church premises throughout the town. Unfortunately, it was not possible to provide accommodation 7 nights a week. Wellingborough School has kindly made their Embankment Club available for a permanent 7 nights a week winter shelter. The building is ready to be opened 1st November 2019 but is still in desperate need of additional volunteers, particularly to cover the overnight supervision/hosting. Volunteering opportunities are not restricted to night shelter supervision and you may have other skills that the WHF may not even have thought of and would love to have on board. Perhaps you could fundraise, bake, cook or have access to donate items of clothing or other items OR you have another great idea. Please make contact if you would like to be involved in any way, shape or form and we are sure that there will be something you can do to help.
