Volunteering with WHF

Would you like to become a volunteer with the Wellingborough Homeless Forum?

Becoming a volunteer does not require a regular commitment, but by spreading the work amongst a larger pool of volunteers does make filling rotas considerably easier.

During the winters of 2017-18 and 2018-19, roving shelters were established using local church premises throughout the town. Unfortunately, it was not possible to provide accommodation 7 nights a week.

Wellingborough School has kindly made their Embankment Club available for a permanent 7 nights a week winter shelter. The building is ready to be opened 1st November 2019 but is still in desperate need of additional volunteers, particularly to cover the overnight supervision/hosting.

Volunteering opportunities are not restricted to night shelter supervision and you may have other skills that the WHF may not even have thought of and would love to have on board.

Perhaps you could fundraise, bake, cook or have access to donate items of clothing or other items OR you have another great idea. Please make contact if you would like to be involved in any way, shape or form and we are sure that there will be something you can do to help.

If you would like to volunteer with the forum, please complete the form below. Please note that in accordance with GDPR we will not share your details with any Third Party organisation.

Please confirm whether you are at least 18 yrs of age (required)

Would you be interested in a volunteer role in some capacity? There are various ways in which people can help e.g. preparing meals for delivery to Night Shelter, Night Shelter supervision etc

Priority is being given to contacting those volunteers who have indicated that they would consider playing a part in Night Shelter supervision and keeping the doors open each night between 1st Nov 2019 and 31st March 2020.

Would you consider supervising in any of the Dinner/Welcome Shift 1s (7.30pm - 10.00pm)?

Would you consider supervising in any of the Overnight Shift 2s (9.45pm - 7.30am , but part shifts may be available)?

Would you consider supervising in any of the Breakfast Shift 3s (6.30am - 7.30am)?

If you have indicated that you would have an interest in volunteering in some way, what is your preferred method of contact?
